One year ago, I embarked on a difficult journey marked by debilitating daily migraines and severe light sensitivity, plunging me into despair and hopelessness. This condition forced me to withdraw from my new business and community. My cognitive behavioral therapist, a critical pillar of support, once told me, “Choose your hard.” This phrase means that even when all options seem difficult, we always have a choice in how we think, behave, and act. Despite my pain, I focused on finding calm and choosing simple joys: meditation, making my daughter laugh, and creating art. Art became my refuge, providing purpose and joy when so many daily functions were stripped away. “Organized Chaos II” revisits a past collection that brought me so much joy to paint and celebrates my resilience and the undeniable power of joy, community and connection.
